Metering Pumps
FMetering pumps are used wherever fluids must be dosed with the highest possible grade of accuracy with a defined volume and within a defined time period. ProMinent has worked in this business for more than 40 years and is a global leader. Offering the largest range of metering pumps worldwide, ProMinent meets, then exceeds your requirements.
Microprocessor Technology
Back in 1968, ProMinent presented one of the first electronically operated solenoid driven metering pumps. ProMinent utilizes microprocessor technology is used on a large scale of its metering pumps - optimally adjusted to each application. Besides multi-functional control methods, microprocessor technology grants increased operational safety. This is ensured by multiple monitoring functions. For instance, the amount of chemicals used in water treatment can be reduced to the absolutely necessary minimum - an important aspect for environmental protection. The same is applicable for the areas of process technology.
The integration of a metering pump into a fully automatic process requires interfaces for the processing of existent control signals. Only microprocessor technology allows the use of all standard signals, e.g. contact and analog signals for pump control without any additional signal processing or transforming devices.
Large Product Range
ProMinent offers electronically operated solenoid driven metering pumps, electronically operated motor driven metering pumps, as well as pneumatically operated metering pumps. The capacity range starts at a few mL/hr e.g. for laboratories and goes up to 10,570 gph (40,000 L/h) for the use in process industries. There are different technologies used to feed the medium. According to the chem.-feed-technology used, metering pumps can be categorized as follows:
- Mechanically actuated diaphragm metering pumps
- Hydraulically actuated diaphragm metering pumps
- Plunger metering pumps
- Peristaltic pumps
Another way of categorizing metering pumps is according to the pump drive:
- Solenoid-driven metering pumps
- Motor-driven metering pumps
- Air operated metering pumps
Solenoid Driven Metering Pumps
Solenoid Driven Diaphragm Metering Pump for the most demanding applications. Due to its versatile operating and control possibilities it is suitable for almost all metering tasks - from the stand alone solution in laboratories to the bus-linked metering system in complex generators. Capacity Range 0.19 - 8.4 gph (0.74 - 32 L/h), 232 - 29 psig (16 - 2 bar)
Motor Driven Diaphragm Pumps
Metering pumps with mechanically-actuacted diaphragms are almost universally applicable in the low pressure range. They offer a favorable cost/performance ratio at minimum maintenance effort.
Process Metering Pumps
Process metering pumps are used in all applications where corrosive, toxic and flammable liquids are metered under very high pressures and extreme temperatures. They are used in the chemical industry, petrochemical industry, refineries as well as oil and gas production or as special metering pumps in the process industry.
Metering Systems
The metering task becomes increasingly easier. Pre-mounted complete solutions made by ProMinent are immediately available and ready for the use in important applications. Sensor technology, controllers and metering pumps form a unit with the necessary tanks and are ready for operation without installation work.
Measuring, Control and Sensor Technology
ProMinent describe the use of measuring and control technologies for fluid metering as “intelligent metering”. Using the right measuring and control technology can help to substantially optimize meteringing of fluid chemicals.
The use of the correct measuring and control technology grants a list of advantages for the metering of fluid chemicals:
- Increased process safety
- More efficient process guidance (e.g. increase in product quality)
- Cost-savings for metering-chemicals
- Cost-savings for the disposal of metering-chemical-surpluses (effluent costs!)
- Transparency of the measuring data in realtime
